This page will mostly be for witnessing to the every day person; if you are looking for some more information on witnessing to those that are involved in cults and the occult, most of that I will have posted on the "Witnessing" Link.

I would first like to display the importance of Witnessing to others. So, before you read on, I ask that you watch these three short videos!

I like the story that Kirk tells at the beginning of Part one. It's a good way to show what we are like when we either refuse to witness or pass up every opportunity to share Christ with others. I really like the way Kirk and Ray quite frequently use the 10 Commandments to reach the lost.

I first want to say, that it is important to try to witness to everyone possible. But, for many of us, it is easier to witness to family and friends, because we know their personality and we love them on a personal level. By all means, reach out to them. What I want to do here, is give you the spiritual ammunition that you need to reach those that you might not know a whole lot about. I first posted those three videos so that you might see the importance of witnessing to the lost (and gave a link to their site "Way of the Master" on my "Links" page) to give you aid in witnessing to the everyday stranger. They are just as important as the one that is involved in the cults.

There is a reason that I want to keep this document separate from the one of witnessing to the Cults. In this document I just want to focus on finding answers to the tough questions about the Bible. To be honest, I am just playing this one by ear and am going to attempt to answer questions as they come to my head or are brought to my attention.

I wish to start with a couple that I found on Walter Martin’s website (WWW.WalterMartin.Com). The first being “Can you lose your Salvation?” and the second “Why must there be pain and human suffering?”

CAN YOU LOSE YOUR SALVATION? –
Part 1

Let’s first take a look at Hebrews 6. This passage is often used to say that you can lose your salvation and to fall away to eternal damnation. The group of people that this passage is referring to is the group of people that repented but then when difficult times came they turned away.
The other side of the fence, though is the fact that there are very convincing counterfeits. There are going to be those that will experience God, and appear to walk with him, but actually do not. Take a look at Judas.
Also, taking a look at this passage, if you are using this passage to say that it is possible to lose your salvation, than you must be ready for the word “Impossible”; Because if you are saying that it is possible to lose your salvation through this verse, you must also admit to the fact that it is IMPOSSIBLE to get it back!

Part 2

Now taking a look at John 6 and John 10. Once you have walked into the grace of God and have accepted his sacrifice the Father will not let go of you. God compels all of us; the only part of our free will that we use is whether or not to say yes. After that, others might say that we walked in by our own free will and therefore, although God will not let go of us, we have the ability to walk out on our own free will. There is a big problem with that thought process, and that is simply to take a look at the story of Jonah. He belonged to God, and when he walked away from God, God brought him right back.

CHARISMA: CULTIC, OCCULTIC OR CHRISTIAN

Part 1

1st Corinthians 12, Hebrews 2:3 and 4. Romans 12 and Ephesians 4. 1st Corinthians 13:8-10. (Circle the word “perfect” in verse 10. That word in Greek means “Complete”). Isaiah 60:19, Jeremiah 31:34, Revelation 21:23, 22:5, 1st John 3:2

1st Corinthians 12:14,18,25,27, 1st Thessalonians 5, 1st John 4, Matthew 7 “Beware of the false prophets.”

Hebrews 2 (A great truth that seems to be skipped over by many Bible students).

EVIL AND HUMAN SUFFERING

A question you might hear a lot “IF God is good and if God is Just then how do we solve the problem of evil and pain and suffering?” This is a question that can not be just overlooked or have a verse or two thrown at it and then passed over. This is not an easy question and therefore does not have a simple answer.
You must first define the word “Omnipotent”. Many will say that God is able to do all things (Kind of like the whole “Chestnut” argument that asks if God can create a rock so big that he cannot lift it). You must understand that there are certain things that God CANNOT do. According to Hebrews 6:18, God CANNOT lie. Another thing that He cannot do is fail. There are about 14 or 15 things that God cannot do. It is not in God’s character to create something that He cannot control it. If you try to attack these types of questions head-on, you will just end up chasing your theological tail.
It is true that God can eliminate evil. You might think that the only way for God to be just would be to eliminate evil and all of its consequences. But when you really take a look at it, in order to annihilate evil in its current state and all of its potential, you would have to annihilate the human race. So often, it is easy for us to think that we were sitting in God’s position, that we could do a better job than He does.
Let’s go back and take a look at why God doesn’t do it, because he could and still exist. Is God unjust and cruel for not getting rid of Evil? There must be a reason for evil. The Christian starts here. There are those who attack God and put omnipotence up against evil. Either God is good and not all powerful or is all powerful and not good…but by this definition, he would not be God.
Suppose, a deity decides to allow free moral choice for his creation so his creation may choose to love Him rather than love him and do his will in a robotic sense of being. God created freedom and moral choice for us to exercise even if it is against him. God made us as free agents to respond.
The Christian has to respond to the question and problem of evil. When we deal with the problem of evil we look at the selection of information to attack God and will pay attention to nothing else, because, as stated earlier, we like to think that we have the ability to do a better job than God does.
When those who really believe that God is unjust by allowing evil, the Christian can really come through with some good information. The universe is approximately 12 and a ¼ billion years old. If God is finite and unable to take care of evil after this amount of time, than what chance do we have; unless, maybe, we team up with him, because the human race has not been around nearly as long as he has. On top of that, good wins over evil and makes humans look good. This argument, of course being good if you are trying to convince one that believes he can do a better job than God.

Malachi 3 (God does not change).

Habakkuk 1:13, Hebrews 10:31, 12:29

Without free choice, there can never be love. Let’s try going down this road; If I am the last man on earth, and there are still loads of women. How would I know that a woman is in love with me for who I really am as a person or if she just wants me because there are no other options.

THE CULT OF LIBERAL THEOLOGY

Open with Acts 20:26. First of all, Paul is telling them about attacks on the church from outside the church and then from inside the church. He is also telling them that you now have responsibility now that you know about the wolves that will come to attack you. The ball is now in your court.
(Cross-reference) Ezekiel 33 and 34.

Universalists - those who think that all religions are making it to heaven.

The Kingdom of God is NOT a Democracy. We do not get to take a vote on what God meant on what he said or what he meant when he said a certain thing.
ACTS 4:12
John 8, 10 all that came before me were thieves.

Muhammad, Confucius, religious leaders and gurus share one common tradition…they’re dead. Jesus was the only one that said “you’re gonna kill me, but I’ll be back!”

There has been a charismatic renewal because clergy became so corrupt that God passed over the clergy and went right to the laymen. God will not be thwarted by Doctors of Divinity. If they won’t listen, we will.

SEVEN CAMPUS CURSES

Three levels of apologetics:

1. High- no one understands them so they don’t pay attention
2. Pop (popularized)-take the information and try to bring it down so that laymen can understand them
3. Slop- takes a piece of this, a piece of that and in the process of running in gets clotheslined.

Try to be like number 2. Bring the hay down from the loft on to the ground so the cow can get to it.

Some people might think that we have a kind of circular reasoning. We try to use the Bible to say that the Bible is the word of God. The Problem with considering this to be circular reasoning is the simple fact that the Bible is not ONE book. It is 66 books composed by 40 something authors over a span of about 4,000 years. The amazing part is, they all point to the same God and the same Jesus!

Another problem we will face are questions about Miracles. A good read on this is C.S. Lewis’ “Miracles”. A common argument AGAINST miracles would be British author and philosopher David Hume. He tried to set up a cannon of arguments against Miracles. He tried to say a problem in miracles was that a miracle is an intervention or reversal of physical law by divine intervention. As we study phenomena we will find cases with out divine intervention. He will also say that water cannot support the weight of a human body and that you can not feed 4 or 5 thousand people on a minimal amount of food and that a corpse, once thoroughly dead, can not be resuscitated. He will say that the miracles in the Bible cannot be substantiated and therefore we live in a closed system and this natural order. Since Miracles would mess up natural order, there are no miracles.

2 rebuttals against Hume.
1. He never refutes miracles, that they couldn’t happen, he just defined them out of existence. He just said that because natural order exists, there can be no miracles.
2. You must attack this from a scientific point of view. We know that the electrons around the nucleus of an atom are always in movement, we live in an open system that is always changing. Not a closed system that never changes. If it can change, it can be altered.

David Hume “In observing the phenomena of nature, one cannot be insensible to the idea of an intelligent creator!” He was a skeptic, not an atheist.

Another argument is a wish for immortality in a “Body” outside of this one, we projected it outwardly and then worshiped it. “Wish fulfillment.” The argument to that is, the desire and wish to believe is proof that there is a God. I am in Bed suffering a night of Pain, I desire that Dawn will come. The fact that I desire for dawn to come, is not proof that dawn will not come.

Another is infinite regression. You think that there must be a beginning. So you look at who made us…God…Well, who made him?
Answer, well, let’s assume that someone did make him. We are not responsible to God’s maker, we are responsible to our maker.

What about those who say that there is no God? (I say the Coke Can Argument). What chance creates, it almost instantly annihilates. This argument also destroys evolution argument.

In 1957 Dr. Arthur Leaky unearthed a skull of what looked like a perfect human being. Scientists dated it, though, 2 million years ago. What is it doing way the heck back there when it should be up here with us.

Scientific Axiom- “When in Doubt…re-date!”

Relativism is another argument. The thought that it is not right to interfere with other cultures. This is what got 6 million Jews killed during WW2.
